The Hooters Murders: Deadly Shift

Scope

The Hooters Murders: Deadly Shift is a two hour documentary for Oxygen True Crime that unpacks the murders of three Hooters Girls between 2001 and 2010. A newlywed, a college hopeful, a young mom. Three different cities, one job in common.

I designed the logo for the project with key art created by the agency Kill 2 Birds. The type is bold and condensed, built to hold up at a glance on a thumbnail or a lower third. A rough, torn line splits HOOTERS from MURDERS, a small break in the letterforms that hints at violence without showing any. DEADLY SHIFT sits underneath in a slanted serif, a quieter contrast to the weight above it.
